Sue’s Work

‘I design and make limited ranges of embroidered articles such as bags, hats and book covers to sell, whilst also making individual pieces and panels for exhibition and to commission.

I want my work to be unique while ensuring that functional articles are useable. I draw upon my knowledge of Art, dressmaking, pattern cutting and embroidery to create surfaces and form.

Themes are derived from observation of land and sea. Through drawing, painting and machine stitching my work moves to abstract composition as I develop my understanding of the visual elements of the subject matter.

I give workshops and talks in my Studio, or at a venue of your choice and teach City & Guilds qualifications at the Studio.

Contact me for details.’

You can see Sue’s work by appointment at the Stitched Up and Fleeced Studio, displayed at:     Treeline Gallery, Bakewell

        Harding House Gallery, Lincoln

and at other venues throughout the country.
