The course offers critical and directional support for the pursuit of excellence in textile crafts through visual research, design development and exploration of contemporary crafting skill.
The aim of the course is to encourage the creation of original and beautiful functional and/or decorative items.
Suitably experienced students will be given guidance through self assessment towards the selection and refinement of their personal strengths. Advice will be offered on the development of marketing strategies together with building and maintaining a professional profile.
The course will culminate in the development of a collection of works which can be marketed or exhibited.
Occasional mentoring will be available on completion of the course.
If desired, students will be considered for application for a Licentiate Membership of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. www.societyofdesignercraftsmen.org.uk
